We spent Amy's birthday in Reno Friday night and had such a blast. We went to the CalNeva casino, watched people sing crazy karaoke, and drank $1 tall boy America beers. We got good an patriotic on the cheap and then bailed early for bed. We had no intention of partying all night then driving for 9 hours on Saturday.
Reno Saras' had a couch surfer in from Michigan named Jordan. He was riding his motorcycle from Michigan to the West Coast for a custom chopper show that he was covering for the magazine he works for. I cant remember the name of his magazine for the life of me. He also introduced me to this karaoke gem:
We had a quick breakfast, snapped some photos, and hit the road.I was annoyed with all the road closed signs, and said screw it and swerved around one. Whoops. Turns out there was parade marking the opening of the Reno Rodeo...and we had inadvertently made ourselves part of it.
Nevada is pretty lackluster other than Reno, it was a pretty boring haul to get to Utah. Other than a few beautiful spots, it was just open desert all the way on US50.
We got to Utah, hauled through some open nothingness, and crashed out at the only spot we could: a severely overpriced RV park. An insane storm rolled through during the night and we did not sleep too well. Woke up around 9 or 10, brushed out teeth, made some coffee, and started the trek to Golden, Colorado. We stopped at a scenic area to take some pictures. I put my camera on the tripod to take a picture, set the timer, and a gust a wind took out my camera. I dove to catch it, but it was to late. Hit the ground hard, and only got a few more pictures before it started displaying an ERROR 99 message. Shit...but here are the pictures before the camera up and died on me.
Once we got to Colorado we met up with Luke and Lilly, and met Luke's awesome parents. They had dinner waiting for us and ice cold beer. Best thing to arrive to after driving all day. Had dinner, drank a beer, then went to Luke and Lilly's to hang out for the night. Next morning I took my camera to a shop and they guy fixed it for free! Such a nice guy, I bought the right sized lens cap for my camera to make up for him not charging me for the quick repair.
We are off to go see do the Coors tour and then do some tubing now, I will throw up some pictures from the rest of my stay in Colorado when I get some time. Brodeo comes into town tonight, and hopefully he and some Blk Blk kids are going to come to Water World with us tomorrow.
